Why do we need another one? horror movie The movie is anyone’s guess, but at least Ghostbusters: Afterlife seems to have captured the feel of the original ’80s classic. After the critical and box office failure of the 2016 reboot/sequel, it looks like we’ll never see supernatural fighting heroes again. Oh, how wrong we were.
Ghostbusters: Afterlife is the sequel to horror movie And Ghostbusters II Set in the rural town of Summerville, Oklahoma. The basic premise involves a group of children who discover their grandfather’s connection to the original Ghostbusters when they are forced to confront a growing evil emanating from the town. You can watch the trailer and full synopsis below.
After being evicted from her home, a single mother and her two children are forced to move to a ruined farm in Summerville, Oklahoma, left to them by the children’s deceased grandfather, where a series of earthquakes occur. land of unknown cause although not located in any location. Errors and strange things are happening in an old mine that once belonged to the occultist Ivo Shandor.
The kids discover their grandfather’s history with the original Ghostbusters, who have been largely forgotten by the world beyond their fan base. When supernatural phenomena related to New York City’s “Manhattan Crossrip of 1984” arise and threaten the town, the kids, along with their families and friends, must use the Ghostbusters’ devices to save it. .
The trailer makes this movie look like a movie version of Strange thingswas certainly helped by the fact that Strange things Actor Finn Wolfhard is the star. He is joined by McKenna Grace (Annabelle Comes Home), Carrie Coon (Avengers: Infinity War) and Paul Rudd (Ant Man).
The big reveal at the end of the trailer is the voice of Dan Aykroyd as the original Ghostbuster Ray Stantz. Aykroyd isn’t the only returning cast member from the series, with Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver and Annie Potts all set to return.
Although the film lacks the excitement of the first part, I’m still optimistic that the film will be a success thanks to co-writer and director Jason Reitman, son of Ivan Reitman, co-writer and director of the two films first movie.
Ghostbusters: Afterlife will hit theaters on November 11.
