We finally have our first look at the much anticipated Game of Thrones prequel Dragon House. The 10-episode series is set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones and focuses on House Targaryen. It will delve into the story of House Targaryen and the Targaryen civil war known as “The Dance of the Dragons.”
The teaser trailer from HBO doesn’t reveal much, just glimpses at some sword fighting and the series’ main characters, along with a voiceover from Matt Smith’s Prince Daemon Targaryen, who says, “Gods, kings, fire and blood. Dreams did not make us kings – dragons did that.”
As well as exploring how the great House Targaryen fell apart due to internal strife, the show is said to detail the building of King’s Landing and the Iron Throne as well as highlight how the Houses another start.
Prince Daemon Targaryen of the Smith, younger brother of King Viserys Targaryen, joins a stellar cast including Emma D’Arcy as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, daughter of the King, Paddy Considine as King Viserys, Rhys Ifans as Otto Hightower, Hand of the King, Olivia Cooke as Otto’s daughter Alicent Hightower, Steve Toussaint as the Sea Serpent, Lord Corlys Velaryon, Eve Best as his wife, Princess Rhaenys Velaryon and Sonoya Mizuno as as Mysaria, ally of Daemon Targaryen.
Game of Thrones Thankfully creators David Benioff and DB Weiss had nothing to do with it Dragon’s House, with authors George R.R. Martin and Ryan J. Condal taking over. Miguel Sapochnik and Ryan Condal are serving as co-showrunners for the series.
Dragon’s House It’s expected to launch on HBO Max sometime in 2022.
