Krispy Kreme partners with Oreo for Eclipse donuts – but not for long

Krispy Kreme is entering a major collaboration with popular cookie brand Oreo to create the all-new Eclipse donut.

On Monday, April 8, a total solar eclipse will shadow many parts of the United States, and fast food brands will participate in the momentous event.

Krispy Kreme is the latest company to release a product to commemorate the event: ‘Total Eclipse Donuts’, with Oreos.

Popular food blogger, Markie Devo revealed the new collaboration on his Instagram account, where he regularly posts new culinary content, courtesy of a Krispy Kreme employee before the reveal official.

In the image he shared, we can see the donut in question, completely covered in chocolate, cream and topped with an Oreo cookie.

“There are currently no details about the actual donut,” Markie Devo explains. A Krispy Kreme employee told me it was most likely an original glazed with cookies and cream frosting, followed by an original Oreo on top.”

“Get this product for a limited time at participating Krispy Kreme locations April 5-8,” Devo said, noting that the ad says a dozen will cost $18 but the price May vary by location.

Sonic also went viral before the eclipse when they revealed they would be bringing out ‘Blackout’ drinks.
