11 years ago, Miss Ngo Phuong Lan and Mr. Loz Whitaker met at the VTV studio.
Ngo Phuong Lan (born 1987, native of Nghe An) was known as Miss Vietnamese World in early 2007. Although she was nominated twice for Miss World in 2007 and 2008, she was rejected. Get busy with school and work.
The beauty’s parents both work in the diplomatic service, so Ngo Phuong Lan’s childhood dream was to become a diplomat. She followed her family to study in many countries around the world such as the US, France, Switzerland and was awarded by US President Bill Clinton for her high academic achievements at New York Elementary School.
In 2013, Ngo Phuong Lan decided to marry Loz Whitaker.
In the latest episode of the show 5 star hotel, Miss Ngo Phuong Lan revealed about her first meeting with society. At that time, both of them participated in the program I’m talented of VTV6 channel, sitting as a judge next to journalist Dang Diem Quynh.
Ngo Phuong Lan said, main MC Diem Quynh was the matchmaker who brought them together. The former Miss remembers the first time she got emotional, seeing the man looking worried, so she thought to herself, “This guy seems difficult.” There were no “sparks” between the two people in the middle.

Even so, she continued to ask about his recent situation and help him. They worked together all week from morning to night at the docks, and it was those days that created a good bond between the two.
Mr. Loz Whitaker lived in England for 18 years. When he finished high school, according to the assignment of the volunteer company, he was sent to Vietnam but in his mind he could not imagine that after only 1 year of commitment, he would stay in this beautiful country for the rest of his life.
“The first days of coming to a foreign country were full of difficulties, but he never lost the will to return. Monthly wages back then were very limited, summers in Vietnam were much hotter than England,” Loz Whitaker said.
He enjoyed the crowded Vietnam and wanted to explore more about this country. What’s quite interesting is that after the Covid-19 epidemic, the whole family sang English songs for a few months to… live together, but in the end, the country the couple chose was still Vietnam.
As for Ngo Phuong Lan, the beauty said she was not the one who registered for the beauty contest, but her family sent the application and told her daughter to go to England to meet her best friend. The young girl was accidentally drawn into the competition and won runner-up. However, to decide the next step to the Miss World Final round, Vietnamese people had to rely on their mother’s revival.

However, Ngo Phuong Lan shared that she was not mentally prepared to become a beauty queen, so she later returned to continue studying. “My parents always create formulas to test yourself and overcome. When you overcome, your parents give you new challenges,” she revealed.
Ngo Phuong Lan’s parents always wanted their daughter to become a diplomat, but she found another direction, choosing a career in education, the same path as Loz Whitaker. Ngo Phuong Lan shared: “The field of education is both my chosen profession and my choice, so there is harmony. My parents understand and respect my decision.”
Ngo Phuong Lan and her husband started from friendship, so when they learned about each other, fell in love and got married, they received the support of both families.
To the eyes of outsiders, it seems like Loz Whitaker accepts to step back and be his wife’s rearguard, but Ngo Phuong Lan’s wife affirms that she is also a good rearguard for her husband. Mr. Loz happily said: “Lan without Loz will be difficult, but Loz without Lan is also more difficult. Both are behind.”

The couple does not put too much work into it. Loz Whitaker lives half a world away from his family, because Loz’s parents are also a moving family, not currently living in their own country. Ngo Phuong Lan and her husband plan to welcome her husband’s parents to Vietnam to live for half a year…
