If for the first time Venom: Let there be carnage the trailer didn’t get you excited, this one should. Sony’s new trailer for the Tom Hardy-led film delivers a real kick as we see not only Venom but also Woody Harrelson’s Carnage.
Set one year after the events of the first film, Venom: Let there be carnage finds Hardy’s journalist Eddie Brock trying to live a normal life with the alien symbiote, Venom, inside him. While Venom wants to spend his time as a dangerous vigilante killing and eating everything in his path, Brock tries to resume his journalism career by interviewing serial killer Cletus Kasady, who transform into Carnage and follow the path of destruction. Check out the bonkers trailer below.
This film seems to follow a similar path to the first film, with over-the-top violence, crude humor, and Hardy giving another strong performance. The CGI looks pretty neat and having Harrleson play the main bad guy is a stroke of genius. The trailer also gives us our first look at Naomie Harris as Frances Barrison, aka Shriek, who begins a romance with Kasady.
The Andy Serkis-directed film also stars Michelle Williams returning as Anne Weying, Brock’s ex-fiancé, Reid Scott as Weying’s boyfriend and Stephen Graham as Detective Mulligan.
Venom: Let there be carnage will officially hit the big screen on September 24, 2021.
