The two teenagers who died in the accident were attending a prom on Friday evening, April 14, 2023, when they were involved in a fatal accident in the early hours of Saturday morning at around 1:50 am. How many vehicles were involved in the accident? According to the police report, this was a multi-vehicle accident involving a car and a pickup truck. Since news of Madison and Samuel’s death in the accident appeared online, people have mourned their deaths and left heartbroken.

After a preliminary investigation, police announced that there were four passengers in the Tesla car that was pinned underneath the truck’s trailer. The driver of the car was Samuel Brown while Madison Shaq sat in the front seat and two people sat in the back seat. Both passengers sitting in the front seat of the car, Madison Shaq and Samuel Brown, were determined to have died immediately after the accident at the scene. However, the two other people in the back seat of the Tesla were an 18-year-old girl from Montgomery and a 17-year-old girl from Marion.

A person familiar with the incident said that the car driver did not know how to drive, leading to the fatal accident. After learning of the deaths of two students, Paul W. Bryant High School released a statement that read: “Tuscaloosa City Schools will not confirm or release the name of this student because the Police Department Tuscaloosa has not yet announced.”
The school added: “However, we are all deeply saddened and offer our condolences to the student’s family and friends. These are difficult times for our students, faculty, and staff.
