TikTok’s AI Green Screen trend is taking over the platform as users compete to see what works of art the filter can create using their names as prompts.
Artificial Intelligence technology continues to make great strides and it is now spreading across social media.
TikTok’s penchant for creating the latest trends and fads has now focused on AI technology that creates artwork from text prompts, which the platform names ‘AI Green Screen’.
Trending is a simple filter that TikTokers can use in their videos. The premise is pretty easy: Just select a filter and enter your name to let the AI technology create original images using your name as a guide.
Some images are clearer than others, and some, of course, are downright strange.

The hashtag #aigreenscreen on TikTok has attracted more than 141.6 million views as users flooded the app to see what piece of art the AI would create just for them.
Of course, you don’t have to use your name. Other TikTokers have given different prompts to the filter, like this user who asked the filter to create an image of her and her boyfriend in their dream home.

This isn’t the first time AI artwork has taken over social media; back in June, the Twitterverse exploded as netizens raced to share their results from the Dall-E Mini, a similar AI tool that generates works of art from user prompts.
However, instead of using a person’s name, users can enter anything they want, no matter how fantastical it is. For example, we at Dexerto entered “black cat wearing a witch’s hat in a field of strawberry shortcake” and got the results below:

This is by far one of the more interesting trends to take over TikTok… and one of the least confusing, following viral claims appearing on the app alleging that there has been a zombie outbreak in China.
