Jason Whitlock’s parents separated when he was very young, but he still greatly admires them. He lived largely with his mother until he moved in with his father when his mother had to leave town on business. Jason Whitlock was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, on April 27, 1967. His father had financial difficulties and they shared a small apartment. Their relationship worsened when Jason’s father attempted to correct what he considered flaws in Jason’s life. Their relationship improved once Jason graduated from college and began taking care of himself. Unfortunately, Jason’s father died at the age of 77 and Jason paid a heartfelt tribute to him.
