Twitch streamers across New York were stunned after capturing the 4.8 magnitude earthquake that rocked the US East Coast on April 4.
An earthquake shook New Jersey and shocked surrounding areas of New York, Connecticut, etc. at 10:30 a.m. on April 4.
The rest of the country was warned via social media and news reports, but people watching Twitch, TikTok and Kick live streams from creators in the region saw it happen in real time.
Twitch streamer ‘Oceane’ experienced the earth moving just over an hour into his livestream while chatting with viewers. The creator stood up from his chair to look out the window after feeling the shaking and shouted at the camera.

“Dude, New York is having a damn earthquake. I swear to God, New York is having a fucking earthquake right now,” he exclaims while the camera shakes slightly.
Kick streamer ‘Lil $kam’ encountered shaking while on air in New Jersey, but had a more relaxed response. He took off his headphones and gently asked if an earthquake was happening.

“Yo, am I in an earthquake? Yo, my house is shaking,” he told his audience.
TikTok creator Allison Martins was hit by the earthquake while streaming from her home. The streamer’s dog can be heard in the background before she takes off her headphones and runs to find the door to stand in while yelling at her children to do the same.

She re-cropped the moment and then uploaded it to her page.
The incident has since gone viral as many creators and news publications documented its impact across the East Coast.
This is the second earthquake to rock the world this week as a more violent event struck Taiwan in April. Streamers also captured that natural disaster while broadcasting to viewers.
