Police are searching for a Burger King customer after a man was caught on camera pulling out a gun after receiving a discounted meal.

The Willowick Police Department revealed via Facebook that they are looking to identify and locate a disgruntled Burger King customer after the man pulled out a gun.

Howard Vernon, 38, was driving across the street when the incident occurred at 9 a.m. on March 31. According to Vernon, the customer became upset after learning the total cost of his order – two Sausage, egg and cheese croissants, a sausage biscuit and hash browns.

Because Burger King was having a promotion, the total amount came to $8 instead of $11, something that clearly upset customers.

Vernon told 19 News, “He said, ‘My order can’t be right, it should be $11,’ and I was trying to explain to him that we were having a promotion and like it was cheaper, and he started cursing and getting loud.”

“I thought, ‘I don’t know what to tell you, I don’t know why you want to pay more,'” he continued. The customer then left, only to return shortly after, withdrawing gun, threatened Vernon’s life and used racial slurs.

Police have asked anyone with information about the customer to come forward. Meanwhile, Vernon said he plans to return to work, although he has not been back since the incident.

“Knowing that someone would do something like that just because I’m trying to get you a better deal and just have it exposed like that, yeah, that’s scary,” Vernon said.
