Footage that has gone viral shows a police officer chasing and tackling an escaped pig after several were discovered in the vicinity.
The Grantsville Police Department caught the attention of the Internet after posting a video to Facebook of one of their officers chasing an escaped pig.
Officer Cory Cooper, the man of the hour, was filmed cornering the animal before diving to the ground and grabbing it with a “defensive tackle”.
The clip quickly went viral, racking up more than 12 million views on one particular video posted to TikTok.
While some TikTok users took the opportunity to mock Cooper, others praised the officer for his ability to catch pigs.

“I was really impressed when he was able to catch one, laughing. Those little guys are very good at escaping,” one person commented. Another said: “I feel this in my soul! Trying to catch a pig once it has escaped is a pain. Many bruises those days. However, the police are hot!

According to the police department, this pig is one of many “runaway” pigs in the neighborhood whose owner has yet to be found.
“If you are missing some pigs in the area of 700 S Quirk St. They are on the run on a large scale,” said a post on the department’s Facebook page. “The city will try to trap them and this may be done at the owner’s expense. So if they are yours, try to collect them as soon as possible.”

Since no one came forward to claim the pigs, 2KUTV reported that the animals were taken to a local rescue agency.
